A group of local merchants gathered in a Hartford Connecticut inn in 1810 and with a working capital of just $15,000 founded the now famous Hartford Fire Insurance Company. From it’s uncertain beginning Hartford has grown into one of the strongest and most respected business organizations in the world.

<p>This a perpetual mechanical calendar/paper weight issued to celebrate Hartford’s 150 Year Anniversary 1810 to 1960. The Brass Calendar Cylinder is mounted on a 4.5" wide x 3.5" deep x 1.0" acrylic base.  A gold Hartford Stag and the dates 1810 and 1960 are incased in the base. The calender still keeps the current date by simply aligning the number 1 on the first line of the sliding calender with the appropriate day of the week ( on the cylinder) it falls on. Once this is done, the rest of the days and date are current.
